Nine militants belonging to two banned outfits, Kangleipak Communist Party (Taibanganba) and Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF)/People’s Liberation Army (PLA), were arrested by security forces in Manipur. Three rebels from KCP (Taibanganba) were identified as Konjengbam Akash, Nongthombam Amujao Singh, and Amom Somendro alias Kaleipung Meitei, who were involved in extortion activities. In another incident, six cadres of RPF/PLA were arrested, identified as Nandeibam Opendro Singh, Yumkhaibam Rakesh Singh, Ngangom Lakhan Singh, Wangkhem Ratan Singh, Heisanam Deben Singh, and Moibungkhongbam Binu Meitei. Police seized weapons, ammunition, mobile phones, and a vehicle from the militants.

Security Forces Arrest Nine Militants in Manipur
Security forces in Manipur have successfully apprehended nine militants belonging to two banned outfits – Kangleipak Communist Party (Taibanganba) and Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF)/People’s Liberation Army (PLA). The arrests were made in two separate locations in Manipur on Tuesday, marking a significant victory in the ongoing battle against insurgency in the region.
Arrests in Khongjom Area
In the Khongjom area, three rebels from KCP (Taibanganba) were taken into custody. The militants have been identified as Konjengbam Akash (33), Nongthombam Amujao Singh (25), and Amom Somendro alias Kaleipung Meitei (28). Upon their arrest, security forces seized two pistols with two magazines, 19 live rounds, Rs 30,000 in cash, three mobile phones, four demand letters, and a car from their possession. According to police reports, the militants were actively involved in extortion activities, causing unrest in the region.
Arrests in Lamsang Area
Meanwhile, in the Lamsang area, six cadres affiliated with RPF/PLA were apprehended by security forces. The militants have been identified as Nandeibam Opendro Singh (49), Yumkhaibam Rakesh Singh (32), Ngangom Lakhan Singh (24), Wangkhem Ratan Singh (47), Heisanam Deben Singh (41), and Moibungkhongbam Binu Meitei (49). During the operation, authorities seized a 9mm pistol with a magazine, one .32 pistol with a magazine, 16 live ammunition rounds, eight mobile phones, and a vehicle from the militants.
