In a bizarre incident in Carlisle, Cumberland County, police have charged a man for being intoxicated while teaching his 14-year-old family member how to drive. The incident took place on North College Street and B Street on Sunday, May 19 around 8:12 p.m.

Reckless Driving Incident

According to Carlisle Borough Police, they received a call about a reckless driver in a white pickup truck. The caller reported seeing the vehicle driving around the roundabout, leaving the roadway into a ditch, and then backing up and driving north up over the sidewalk, striking several cones along the way. The truck was eventually located at the stop sign on North College Street at G Street.

Intoxicated Driver

The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 14-year-old male, with Jonathan Storms in the front seat. Storms, who was intoxicated and had an odor of alcohol, claimed that he was teaching his family member how to drive. Police advised Storms to leave his vehicle parked and pick it up the next morning once he was sober.
