Arrests Made in Lower Merion Burglary Cases

Lower Merion police have announced several recent burglary arrests in an effort to combat crimes suspected of being committed by individuals from South America. These arrests are part of an ongoing effort by law enforcement agencies from various states, including Ohio, Connecticut, and New York, as well as local police departments such as Upper Merion, Tredyffrin, Plymouth, Abington, and Upper Makefield.

Recent Incidents

The most recent arrests were made following two burglaries on April 23 in Lower Merion Township. The first burglary occurred on John Barry Drive in Bryn Mawr, while the second took place on Cedar Lane in Villanova. Following these incidents, Upper Merion police conducted a traffic stop, leading to the apprehension of two male suspects.

Suspects Apprehended

The two male suspects, identified as Jeffrey Saldarriaga, 22, and Johasir Cisterna, 22, both Peruvian nationals, were found in possession of burglary tools, jewelry, and other stolen items. They were charged in connection with the Bryn Mawr and Villanova burglaries and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on April 25.

Another suspect, Manuel Alejandro Itzig Tennenbaum Vida, 26, from Chile, was also identified in connection with the burglaries and was arrested on May 21 in Los Angeles County.

Previous Arrests

Previously, Claudeo Fuentez-Soto, 25, from Chile, was arrested on December 9 as he fled the scene of a burglary on Woodleave Road in Bryn Mawr. Fuentez-Soto has since been linked to six additional burglaries in the area.

On December 22, four suspects were apprehended in Connecticut after being involved in burglaries in Ohio and Pennsylvania. They are currently awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania and Ohio.

On March 23, a burglary occurred on Williamson Road in Gladwyne, followed by another incident on Pinewood Road in Villanova. Diego Marambio-Diaz, 30, was identified in connection with these burglaries and is currently in custody for an unrelated matter.

The investigations into these burglary cases are ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Lower Merion Police. The collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies have led to multiple arrests in connection with the recent spate of burglaries in the area.
