Human Remains Identified at Former Home of Herb Baumeister in Westfield, Indiana
In a recent update from the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, another set of human remains recovered at the former residence of Herb Baumeister in Westfield, Indiana, has been positively identified. The remains, originally discovered in 1996 at Fox Hollow Farm, have been confirmed to belong to Jeffrey Jones.
Identification of Victims
Jeffrey Jones is the third individual to have been identified from remains found on the property. Last year, another set of remains was identified as Allen Livingston, who was reported missing in 1993. The Fox Hollow Farm was once home to Baumeister, an Indiana serial killer who targeted gay men in the mid-80s and mid-90s. The investigation has revealed a total of 12 known victims, with four DNA profiles yet to be identified.
Forensic Genetic Genealogy Investigation
The identification of Jeffrey Jones was made possible through an extensive forensic genetic genealogy investigation conducted by the coroner’s office and the FBI. Jones, a resident of Fillmore, was reported missing in August 1993. The challenging nature of the investigation, due to the condition of the remains, has required collaboration between various law enforcement agencies and forensic specialists.
