Teen Arrested for Multiple Crimes in Tucson
A 17-year-old male has been arrested by Tucson Police in connection with several crimes committed in May, including third-degree burglary, auto theft, first-degree burglary, and aggravated assault.
Stolen Vehicle Incident
The teen first came to the attention of authorities after a black Kia Sedan was stolen from an apartment complex located at 6340 S. Santa Clara Ave on May 9. The vehicle was later found on Tucson’s south side on May 11. Pima County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop the Sedan, but the driver fled and eventually abandoned the vehicle.
PCSD identified the suspected driver as the 17-year-old, who was listed as a runaway and known to be armed, with an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Home Invasion
The teen was also identified as a suspect in a home invasion that took place on May 14. The incident involved suspects forcing their way into an apartment near South Mission Road in the early morning hours. Fortunately, the victims, an adult female and two children, were unharmed during the invasion.
One of the suspects was reported to be wearing a tan tactical vest and armed with a pistol. Several TPD officers and specialized units were deployed to locate and arrest the teen.
Arrest
The teen was apprehended later in the day in a vehicle near South Campbell Avenue and East Valencia Road. Tucson Police SWAT successfully stopped the vehicle and took the suspect into custody.
During the arrest, police discovered the tactical vest and handgun inside the vehicle. It was revealed that the vest had been taken from the stolen Kia. Detectives also found several pictures of the teen standing on top of the stolen vehicle while wearing the stolen vest and holding the pistol.
The swift action by law enforcement led to the apprehension of the teen and the recovery of stolen property. The community can rest assured that the individual responsible for these crimes is now in custody.
