Tragic Incident in Mysuru: Family of Four Found Dead Due to Suspected Gas Leak

Mysuru: A heartbreaking incident unfolded in the quiet Yaraganahalli locality of Mysuru district, where the lifeless bodies of four family members were discovered under suspicious circumstances on Wednesday.

The authorities are currently investigating the possibility of a gas leak being the cause of this tragic event.

The deceased individuals have been identified as Kumaraswamy (45), his wife Manjula (39), and their daughters Archana (19) and Swathi (17).

Originally from Sakharayapatna town in Chikkamagaluru district, the family had made Mysuru their home for many years.

Mysuru Police Commissioner Ramesh Banoth revealed that the incident came to light when concerned relatives could not reach the family and sought assistance from their local acquaintances to check on them.

Upon arriving at the residence, a foul odor, possibly emanating from a gas leak, permeated the air, prompting immediate police intervention.

Forced entry was necessary as the windows and doors were securely locked from within, leading to the grim discovery of the deceased individuals who appeared to have succumbed in their sleep.

Investigations revealed the presence of three gas cylinders on the premises, raising suspicions of a lethal gas leak as the cause of death. The family had attended a wedding ceremony on May 16 and 17 before returning to Mysuru.

Neighbours recalled seeing the family in good spirits and normal behavior before the tragedy struck.

The authorities are diligently pursuing further leads to unravel the circumstances surrounding this devastating event.
