Human remains found at the former home of Herb Baumeister in Westfield, Indiana have been identified as Jeffrey Jones, making him the third person to be identified from remains found on the property. Baumeister, a serial killer, lured gay men to his home in the mid-80s and mid-90s before killing them and disposing of their bodies on the farm. Jones was reported missing in August 1993 and his remains were identified through a forensic genetic genealogy investigation. More than 10,000 pieces of remains have been recovered at the site, with four DNA profiles still unidentified, bringing the total number of known victims to 12.

Identification of Human Remains at Former Herb Baumeister Home

In a recent development at the former home of Herb Baumeister, located in Westfield, Indiana, the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office has identified another set of human remains. The remains, originally recovered in 1996 from Fox Hollow Farm, have been confirmed to be those of Jeffrey Jones.

Previous Discoveries

This discovery follows the identification of other remains found on the site last year, which were identified as Allen Livingston. Livingston, who was reported missing in 1993 to the Indianapolis Police Department, was one of the victims linked to Baumeister.

Jeffrey Jones now marks the third person to be identified from remains found at the farm, shedding light on the dark history of Baumeister’s crimes. Fox Hollow Farm was the former residence of Baumeister, who was believed to have targeted gay men in the mid-80s and mid-90s, ultimately leading to their tragic deaths.

Forensic Investigation

The identification of Jones’ remains was made possible through an extensive forensic genetic genealogy investigation conducted by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office and the FBI. Jones, a resident of Fillmore, was reported missing in August 1993.

More than 10,000 pieces of remains have been recovered at Fox Hollow Farm, including bones, fragments, and body parts. Investigators have four additional DNA profiles that remain unidentified, bringing the total count of known victims to 12.
