The tight-knit community of Terrell County, Georgia, was left reeling after a tragic car accident claimed the life of a recently graduated high school student from Deerfield-Windsor High School. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning on Bobby Locke Road, a quiet stretch of highway that winds through the rural landscape of Terrell County.
Details of the Accident
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident involved a single vehicle, a white Ford F-150, which was travelling south on Bobby Locke Road. As the truck approached a curve in the road, it veered off onto the east shoulder, travelling approximately 260 feet before hitting a culvert and becoming airborne. The vehicle then struck a guy wire, causing it to continue south while still airborne, until it collided with a tree, coming to an uncontrolled stop on its driver’s side.
Loss of Life
Tragically, the driver of the vehicle, identified as David Mullins, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Mullins, a senior at Deerfield-Windsor High School who had recently graduated, was a well-loved member of the community, known for his kindness and infectious spirit.
A passenger in the vehicle, Vansh Patel, was ejected during the crash and sustained injuries. He was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Coroner Michael Fowler revealed that Mullins had been awarded a $2,000 scholarship from the Albany Rotary Club and had plans to attend the University of Georgia.
