Tragic Porsche Accident in Pune Leads to Arrest of Minor’s Father
Following the tragic accident on May 19 involving a Porsche car driven by a 17-year-old boy in Pune, which resulted in the death of two individuals, the minor’s father has been remanded in police custody until May 24 by a sessions court in the city.
The incident has sparked outrage on social media platforms, with a heated exchange of words between BJP and Opposition leaders regarding the immediate bail granted to the minor accused.
After the collision, the teenage driver was brought before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), which granted him bail within hours. The police have now sought a review of this decision from the JJ board.
Police commissioner Amitesh Kumar has stated that CCTV footage from a nearby hotel clearly shows the juvenile consuming alcohol.

The two individuals who lost their lives in the accident were identified as Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, both IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh. Anish hailed from Birsinghpur Pali in Umaria district, while Ashwini was a resident of Jabalpur.

Release of the Accused Minor
The Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) granted bail to the minor on the same day as the accident and instructed him to visit the Regional Transport Office to study traffic rules and submit a presentation on road safety within 15 days. The board also mandated that the minor write an essay on road accidents and their solutions.
Arrest of the Father
Following public outcry on social media, the teenager’s father, Vishal Agarwal, a real estate developer, was apprehended from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) on May 21.
Police Custody for Father and Others
On May 22, the minor’s father and two employees of Black Club pub, Nitesh Shevani and Jayesh Gavkar, where the juvenile allegedly consumed alcohol, were brought before an additional sessions judge. The court ordered them to remain in police custody until May 24.

The police have filed a case against the teenager’s father under sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act, as well as against the owner and staff of two bars for serving alcohol to a minor.
