The Rochester Police Department has provided more details about a tragic fatal crash at the entrance to Apache Mall in Rochester, MN. The incident involved a State Patrol squad car and resulted in the death of 18-year-old Olivia Flores, a high school student from Owatonna. The crash occurred when a Ford Focus, driven by 21-year-old Angelina Bartz, collided with the State Patrol vehicle as it attempted to turn into the mall. Both vehicles then collided with a Toyota RAV4. Several individuals were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for medical treatment, while a GoFundMe page has been set up to support the Flores family.

Rochester Police Release Details on Fatal Crash at Apache Mall Entrance
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) – The Rochester Police Department has provided additional information regarding a tragic incident that took place on Saturday at the entrance to Apache Mall.
The fatal crash involved three vehicles, one of which was a State Patrol squad car, and occurred around 5:45 PM. The collision resulted in the untimely death of 18-year-old Olivia Flores, a promising Owatonna High School student who was just weeks away from graduation.
According to the ongoing investigation conducted by the Rochester Police Department Forensic Mapping Unit, the accident occurred when a Ford Focus, in which Olivia Flores was a passenger, attempted to make a left turn from westbound 12th Street Southwest into Apache Mall. Unfortunately, the vehicle collided with the State Patrol car, which was traveling east on 12th Street at the time.
Subsequently, the Ford Focus also collided with a Toyota RAV4 that was exiting Apache Mall and waiting to turn east onto 12th Street, causing the SUV to end up in a ditch.

Angelina Bartz, a 21-year-old from Owatonna, was identified as the driver of the Ford Focus, with Olivia Flores and 19-year-old Katerina Bartz also on board. The State Trooper involved in the crash was 32-year-old Shane Roper from the State Patrol Rochester District, accompanied by 20-year-old Peter Meyer of Zumbrota.
All individuals involved in the collision were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for medical treatment, with the exception of Olivia Flores, who tragically lost her life. The current medical conditions of the survivors have not been disclosed.
Fortunately, the two occupants of the Toyota RAV4, 36-year-old Emie Pasco and 12-year-old Gabriela Parker, both from Owatonna, sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
