The subsequent investigation revealed that the two individuals involved in the scuffle were SAF commandos named Police Corporal George Rojo Mabuti and Patrolman Roger Ramos Valdez.

Further revelations during the investigation exposed the clandestine activities of Mabuti and Valdez, who were providing unauthorized VIP security to a Chinese national allegedly connected to a POGO operation.
