One person has died and another has sustained serious injuries in a UTV crash in Lafayette County, Wisconsin. The incident occurred on County Highway F, north of County Highway G, in the Town of Fayette. The driver lost control of the UTV, veered off the road, and collided with an embankment. The deceased victim, identified as 40-year-old Dustin Matzke from New Glarus, was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital in Lafayette County. The other rider, a 44-year-old resident of New Glarus, was airlifted to UW Hospital for treatment. Authorities from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the crash.

Tragic UTV Crash Claims One Life in Lafayette County

A devastating UTV crash in Lafayette County, Wisconsin, has left one person dead and another with serious injuries. The incident occurred on Sunday evening in the Town of Fayette, along County Highway F, just north of County Highway G.

According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of the UTV lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, and collided with an embankment. The crash resulted in tragic consequences, as one of the riders, identified as 40-year-old Dustin Matzke from New Glarus, was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital in Lafayette County.

The other rider, a 44-year-old resident of New Glarus, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to UW Hospital by UW MedFlight. The authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, with wardens from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources collaborating with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.

At this time, it remains unclear who was driving the UTV at the time of the accident. The community is left mourning the loss of a life and hoping for the full recovery of the injured individual.
