Chillicothe Police Department Responds to Various Calls for Service

The Chillicothe Police Department had a busy weekend responding to a variety of calls for service across the city. From traffic stops to arrests, the officers were kept on their toes dealing with different incidents that required their immediate attention.

Friday Incidents

On Friday, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 10 block of Third Street while investigating thefts in the area. During the stop, they discovered that one of the individuals in the vehicle had an outstanding warrant from Daviess County for failing to appear on a DWI charge. The 18-year-old man from Chillicothe was arrested and taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center.

Later in the day, officers located a 16-year-old with a warrant for his arrest through the Division of Youth Services. The teen resisted arrest, but with the help of a citizen, officers were able to apprehend him. The arrest led to the closure of multiple theft cases, including a stolen firearm.

In another incident, a 53-year-old Chillicothe man was arrested for a Grundy County warrant for stealing. He was transported to the Grundy County line and released to a deputy.

Saturday Events

On Saturday, officers responded to a call to assist the Highway Patrol in the 1000 block of Graves Street. A suspect had fled from a traffic stop in the area and crashed their vehicle after a brief foot pursuit. They were taken into custody.

Later in the morning, officers responded to a death scene in the 800 block of Walnut. No criminal activity was discovered, but the investigation is ongoing.

At another location, officers located a woman with a warrant for fraud while handling a separate call. She was taken into custody, posted bond, and was released.

Sunday Situations

On Sunday, officers were called to issue a citation for illegal burning to a suspect in the area of Jansen and Calhoun. The individual had been warned multiple times about the illegal activity.

Later in the day, officers worked a two-vehicle crash in the area of Grandview and 3rd Street. The driver of the striking vehicle was issued citations for failing to maintain a single lane of traffic and for not having insurance.

Throughout the weekend, the Chillicothe Police Department remained vigilant in responding to calls for service and ensuring the safety and security of the community.
