A tragic incident occurred in Maharashtra’s Pune city when a 17-year-old minor crashed a speeding Porsche car into a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. According to the police, the luxury car driven by the juvenile hit a bike rider and pillion from behind in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune City on Sunday.

The Pune City Police, represented by DCP Vijay Kumar Magar, stated, “A bike rider and pillion were killed when a speeding Porsche car hit them from behind in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune City last night. The accused has been arrested, and an FIR has been registered. Further investigation is underway.”
The incident, as per the FIR, took place around 3.15 am in Kalyani Nagar when a group of friends, after a party at a restaurant in the area, was returning home on their motorbikes.
Legal Action and Investigations
The father of the accused and the bar that served liquor to the juvenile driver are facing legal proceedings under Sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act, as confirmed by the CP Pune.
At the Kalyani Nagar junction, the speeding luxury car collided with one of the motorcycles, causing the two riders to fall and tragically lose their lives on the spot, as stated in the FIR. Subsequently, the car crashed into the roadside pavement railings.
A video circulating on social media depicted a group of individuals thrashing the driver as he attempted to exit the crashed vehicle.
The deceased victims have been identified as Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa, according to the FIR details.
A case has been registered against the car driver at the Yerawada police station under various Indian Penal Code sections, including 279, 304A, 337, and 338, along with provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Furthermore, the authorities are in the process of initiating legal action against the parents of the teenager involved, under the Motor Vehicles Act and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
