Hnath, a widow who lived alone along the picturesque 2600 block of 2nd Street, was found brutally stabbed to death in her home. Her family discovered her lifeless body after she failed to show up at her regular church service. The scene was one of devastation, with her home ransacked and signs of a violent struggle evident.
Investigators determined that Hnath had succumbed to multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma, indicating that she had fought back against her attacker.
