A Florida Man was arrested for a road rage shooting that occurred on May 5, 2024, on Alligator Alley (Interstate 75). The incident involved a black Toyota Tundra driver with a U-Haul trailer who was shot at by an individual inside a black Infiniti QX80 following a road rage altercation.

The altercation took place around 5 p.m. on the mentioned date as the Tundra driver was traveling south on Alligator Alley. The black Infiniti QX80 cut off the Tundra, sparking a heated exchange that escalated to gunshots being fired from the Infiniti. The suspect vehicle fled the scene while the victim pulled over to contact law enforcement.

Upon arrival, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Troopers launched a criminal investigation and were able to determine the time and location of the incident. They discovered that the back window of the Infiniti had been shot out during the altercation. Utilizing license plate readers in the area, FHP analysts were able to identify the suspect vehicle.

On May 14, 2024, FHP Investigators from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Intelligence (BCII) located the suspect vehicle at a local dealership. As a result of the investigation, the Infiniti was impounded, evidence was collected, and Gonzalez was arrested on various charges before being transported to Collier County Jail. FHP issued a reminder to the public to avoid engaging in confrontations during road rage incidents and to seek assistance by calling *FHP once in a safe location.
