It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph (Joey) Gowder, Jr, aged 68. Joey passed away of natural causes on Sunday, May 12, 2024.

Joseph, known to his friends and family as Joey, was a beloved member of the community. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Joey was a hardworking man who always put his family first. He had a passion for life and enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was fishing on the river or tending to his garden. He had a great sense of humour and could always be counted on for a good joke or a listening ear.

In his professional life, Joey was a respected member of the local business community. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and was known for his integrity and work ethic.

Joey is survived by his loving wife, Sarah, his children, Michael and Emily, and his grandchildren, Lily and Jack. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary and John, and many other extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

The news of Joey’s passing has come as a shock to all who knew him. He was a pillar of strength and a source of comfort to many, and his absence will be deeply felt.

At this time, the cause of Joey’s death has not been confirmed. The family asks for privacy as they grieve this tremendous loss and come to terms with their new reality.

A funeral service to celebrate Joey’s life will be held at St. Mary’s Church on Friday, May 17, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the local hospice in Joey’s memory.
