A man has been indicted on murder charges in the deaths of three women in a tragic incident that shook Multnomah County, Ore., to its core. The grand jury indicted Jesse Lee Calhoun, 39, on three counts of second-degree murder and three counts of second-degree abuse of a corpse.
The victims, Joanna Speaks, 32, Charity Lynn Perry, 24, and Bridget Leanne Webster, 31, were all found in different locations, painting a chilling picture of a series of gruesome events that have left the community in shock.
Speaks’ body was discovered near an abandoned barn in Ridgefield, a serene town just a mile east of Interstate 5. Perry, on the other hand, was found at Ainsworth State Park in east Multnomah County, while Webster’s body was located in Polk County, Ore.
The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Speaks died from blunt head and neck injuries, ruling her death as a homicide. Perry, known to frequent Vancouver, and Webster were also victims of deliberate actions that led to their untimely demise.
Investigations into the deaths of Perry and Webster have also shed light on the cases of Kristin Smith and Ashley Real. Smith, 22, was found in Southeast Portland after being reported missing, while Real, 22, was discovered in Clackamas County, Ore.
Calhoun, the indicted suspect, has not been charged in the deaths of Smith or Real. However, authorities have confirmed that these cases remain under investigation, hinting at the possibility of more shocking revelations to come.
