The Grand Junction Police Department (GJPD) is actively investigating a tragic homicide that took place on the evening of May 14th at the Woodspring Suites located at 659 Market Street. The incident, which occurred around 8:50 p.m., left the community in shock and disbelief.

Upon receiving a report of an unresponsive male, GJPD officers rushed to the scene and discovered the victim, 38-year-old Dustin Nalls from Parachute, Colorado, with a suspected knife wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, Nalls was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following a thorough investigation, a suspect was identified and arrested. Currently, 32-year-old Shenting Guo is being held at the Mesa County Detention Facility and is facing charges of Murder in the Second Degree. The GJPD has reassured the public that they believe this incident to be isolated.
