Sohag Mia, a 46-year-old resident of Khanpara village, was allegedly stabbed by his elder brother, Sona Mia, resulting in his untimely death at Chattogram Medical College Hospital. The conflict arose over a family matter, leading to a physical altercation that left Sohag Mia critically injured. Sona Mia’s wife, daughter, and daughter-in-law have been detained in connection with the incident, while Sona Mia himself has fled. The authorities are preparing to file a lawsuit as the family members involved receive treatment at the Upazila Health Complex.

A horrifying incident unfolded last night in the serene village of Khanpara in Raozan upazila of Chattogram, leaving a family shattered and a community in disbelief. The peaceful surroundings of this rural area were disrupted by a domestic dispute that took a deadly turn, resulting in the tragic death of 46-year-old Sohag Mia.
According to Mohammad Rokon Uddin, the respected Union Parishad Chairman, the conflict that led to the fatal stabbing of Sohag Mia by his elder brother, Sona Mia, originated from a simmering family issue at their humble abode. The tension between the two siblings reached a boiling point, culminating in a violent altercation that changed their lives forever. The shocking incident unfolded right in front of other family members, who were left traumatized by the gruesome turn of events.
As the situation escalated, Sona Mia allegedly committed the heinous act of stabbing his younger brother, inflicting critical injuries that proved fatal for Sohag Mia. The swift actions of concerned family members saw him rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital in a desperate bid to save his life, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries around 10 pm that fateful night. The aftermath of the clash also resulted in injuries to six to seven other family members, who are currently undergoing treatment at the Upazila Health Complex, grappling with both physical pain and emotional trauma.
Jahid Hossain, the diligent Officer-in-Charge at Raozan Police Station, confirmed the distressing incident and revealed that while Sona Mia is the prime suspect, he has evaded authorities by fleeing the scene. In a bid to bring justice to the grieving family and ensure accountability for the senseless violence, Sona Mia’s wife, daughter, and daughter-in-law have been apprehended in connection with the stabbing. The wheels of justice are in motion, with authorities diligently preparing to file a lawsuit that will shed light on the harrowing events that unfolded in Khanpara village.
