Police in San Jose are seeking Julian Salvador Martinez, a 50-year-old suspected of sexually assaulting a girl under a freeway in April. The incident occurred on South 11th Street beneath Interstate 280. Martinez, described as 5’11” with dark hair and a thin mustache, assaulted the victim on a dark-colored bicycle. Photos of Martinez have been released, and he frequents the areas of Coyote Creek and East Williams Street. Anyone with information should contact Detective Addy at 408-277-4102. Police Search for Suspect in San Jose Sexual Assault Case
In a disturbing incident last month, a young girl was sexually assaulted underneath a freeway in San Jose as she was walking home from school. The incident occurred around 5:25 p.m. on April 9, in the area of South 11th Street underneath Interstate 280.
Details of the Assault
The victim, a female minor, was walking northbound on South 11th Street when a man on a dark-colored bicycle approached her. The suspect pulled her underneath the overpass, where he sexually assaulted her and prevented her from leaving. Fortunately, the victim was able to fight off the suspect, who then fled the scene on his bicycle.
Suspect identified
The suspect has been identified as 50-year-old Julian Salvador Martinez. He is described as approximately 5’11” tall, with dark hair and a thin mustache. At the time of the incident, Martinez was wearing a black baseball cap with yellow lettering, a black sweatshirt with light lettering, light-colored pants, and black sneakers.
Police Search for Martinez
It is believed that Martinez frequents the area of Coyote Creek near Keyes Street and Senter Road, known as “The Jungle”, as well as the area of East Williams Street and South 10th Street. Martinez is aware that he is wanted by authorities and has been evicted from his encampment.
