The incident took place at the intersection of 1st Street and SW Topeka Boulevard on Tuesday, May 7. Authorities were alerted to a collision between a motorcycle and a car around 5:30 p.m. Evans, the motorcycle driver, was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Following the crash, a 31-year-old woman from Topeka who was a passenger in the car attempted to flee the scene on foot. However, she was apprehended by law enforcement at a nearby intersection. The woman was subsequently arrested and taken into custody on a felony warrant. The TPD is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
