The Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka Police Department (TPD) has confirmed the tragic news that a man involved in a motorcycle crash earlier this month has passed away. The incident took place on Tuesday, May 7, at the intersection of 1st Street and SW Topeka Boulevard in Topeka.

Victim Identified as Christopher L. Evans

TPD spokeswoman Rosie Nichols revealed in a press release that the driver of the motorcycle, identified as Christopher L. Evans, aged 38 and a resident of Topeka, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, May 11. The crash involved a motorcycle and a passenger car, with Evans sustaining life-threatening injuries.

Arrest Made in Connection with the Crash

Following the crash, a 31-year-old Topeka woman, who was an occupant of the passenger car, fled the scene on foot and was later apprehended by the police at a nearby intersection. She was subsequently arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on a felony warrant. The Topeka Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
