The community of West Bend, WI is mourning the loss of Thomas “Tom” Richard Dobberstein, 87, who passed away recently. Tom was a beloved member of the community, known for his kind heart and generous spirit.

Born and raised in West Bend, Tom was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving his country with honor and dedication. After his military service, Tom returned home to West Bend where he worked as a mechanic for many years. He was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to fix just about anything.

Tom was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, his children, Sarah and James, and his grandchildren, Emily and Jacob. He was a pillar of strength and support for his family, always there to offer a helping hand or a listening ear.

In his free time, Tom enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family. He had a passion for the outdoors and could often be found tending to his garden or taking long walks in the countryside. He had a love for animals, especially his loyal dog, Buddy, who was always by his side.

Tom will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his sense of humor, and his unwavering loyalty to his friends and family. He touched the lives of all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

A funeral service will be held in Tom’s honor at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Bend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the local animal shelter in Tom’s memory.
