Law enforcement authorities in Montgomery County are investigating two suspects on multiple drug allegations. On May 7, Sheriff’s Deputies in Independence, Kansas, spotted a black Jeep parked near the Main Street overpass, leading to the arrest of 19-year-old Quayland Johnson and 18-year-old Trinity Schlegel. Both suspects had outstanding warrants in Montgomery County. Deputies found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, used for smoking fentanyl pills. On May 7, Sheriff’s Deputies spotted a suspect’s black Jeep parked near the Main Street overpass, close to the railroad tracks. Sheriff Ron Wade revealed that the vehicle was connected to an ongoing drug investigation.

Upon approaching the occupants of the Jeep, identified as 19-year-old Quayland Johnson and 18-year-old Trinity Schlegel, deputies discovered that both individuals had outstanding warrants in Montgomery County. Consequently, they were taken into custody.

During the initial encounter with Johnson, deputies noticed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle. The paraphernalia appeared to be used for smoking fentanyl pills, commonly known as “Dirty 30s.” Johnson was also wanted in connection with a narcotics-related search warrant served at 633 W.
