CHENNAI: A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Sekkadu near Manali on Sunday evening, where a family of three, including a couple and their 12-year-old daughter, was found dead in their home in a suspected suicide pact. The devastating news has left the community in shock and disbelief.

The family was identified as Jaganathan (40), his wife, Lokeshwari (35), and their daughter Kaviya, who was a bright class 8 student at a private school in MKB Nagar. Jaganathan, who was running an organic store, faced financial troubles due to losses in his business and mounting debts. This unfortunate situation is believed to have driven the family to take such a drastic step.

It was Jaganathan’s mother who made the grim discovery after repeated calls to her son’s phone went unanswered. Upon visiting their home, she found the couple hanging through a window and immediately raised the alarm. Neighbours quickly informed the police, and a team from MM Colony police station rushed to the scene to investigate.

Upon breaking open the door, the authorities found the lifeless bodies of Jaganathan and Lokeshwari, while their daughter Kaviya was found unconscious. All three were swiftly taken to the Government Stanley Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
