SEDGWICK COUNTY—A man from Kansas has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a teenager. It was just after 11:30 p.m. when police were called to the scene and discovered three individuals inside the home. Alongside Griffin, there was a 25-year-old individual and a teenager identified as Casey Lawrukiewicz.

Lawrukiewicz was rushed to a nearby hospital by EMS but tragically passed away on March 4, 2017. The Judge overseeing the case also ordered Griffin to pay $5,000 in restitution to the Kansas Crime Victims Fund, which covered the expenses of Lawrukiewicz’s funeral.
