The human remains were collected from various locations, including schools and museums, and repatriation may occur on or after June 12, 2024. The Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard University is responsible for the determinations in this notice. Written requests for repatriation must be submitted to the Responsible Official. The PMAE has determined that the human remains represent 22 individuals of Native American ancestry, with a connection to the Eastern Shoshone Tribe.

The repatriation of these human remains is set to take place on or after June 12, 2024.

The Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology has determined that the human remains represent the physical remains of 22 individuals of Native American ancestry. There is a clear connection between the human remains and the Eastern Shoshone Tribe of the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming.

Written requests for repatriation of the human remains must be sent to the Responsible Official identified in the notice.
