In Cedar City, Utah, a 19-year-old man named Cory Scott Kaiser was arrested after attempting multiple burglaries at a home, gas station, and pawn shop. Kaiser broke into a home through a bathroom window, took a knife, and was scared off by the residents. He then tried to break into a gas station but fled when an alarm went off. Finally, he was caught at a pawn shop after triggering motion detection alarms. Kaiser confessed to the attempted burglaries and was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and property damage. Man Arrested After Attempted Burglaries in Cedar City

In Cedar City, Utah, a series of attempted burglaries took place on Thursday, resulting in the arrest of one man by the Cedar City Police Department. Cory Scott Kaiser, 19, was taken into custody after allegedly breaking into a home, a gas station, and a pawn shop in the area.

Break-In at Residence

According to a probable cause statement, Kaiser gained entry to a home near Crescent Hills Drive by breaking through a bathroom window. Once inside, he proceeded to take a knife from the kitchen and began walking through the residence. However, the residents heard him and locked themselves in their bedroom, causing Kaiser to flee through the front door.

Gas Station Incident

Shortly after the break-in at the residence, police received reports of a shattered window at a gas station on 1495 W. 200 N. Upon arrival, officers found a rock had been thrown through the window, indicating an attempted burglary. Surveillance footage showed Kaiser, dressed in all black with a red beanie, breaking the window and entering the building. When an alarm sounded, Kaiser fled the scene once again.

Pawn Shop Burglary

Approximately 40 minutes later, CCPD responded to an active burglary at the Cedar Post Pawn Shop. Officer Benjamin Peterson observed damaged doors and shattered windows at the scene. As he announced himself, Kaiser emerged from behind the gun counter and was taken into custody. Kaiser confessed to entering the residence, gas station, and pawn shop in search of items he wanted.

Confession and Arrest

Following his arrest, Kaiser admitted to police that he attempted to pry open doors in the residence and confessed to breaking into the gas station and pawn shop. He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and property damage/destruction.
