A 29-year-old woman from Cape May County has been charged in the death of her 6-month-old son after an investigation by Lower Township police. The Tragic Death of a 6-Month-Old Baby in Cape May County
A heartbreaking incident occurred in the quiet town of Lower Township, located in Cape May County, which left the community in shock. A 29-year-old woman, Michelle Stanton, has been charged in connection with the death of her 6-month-old son, Christian Carty, following a lengthy investigation by local authorities.
Discovery of the Unresponsive Baby
The tragic event unfolded on June 25, 2023, when Lower Township police responded to a distress call at Michelle Stanton’s residence on the 200 East block of Wilde Avenue in the Villas section of the township. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of baby Christian, who was found unresponsive.
Efforts to Save the Baby
Emergency medical services were immediately summoned to the scene, and they rushed Christian to a nearby hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life. Tragically, despite their best efforts, the young child was pronounced dead upon arrival at the medical facility.
