McPeters was arrested with the help of the Santa Rosa Police Department. The investigation also revealed animal cruelty violations and resulted in the arrest of Jesus Miguel Santoyo Rodriguez for possession of illegal fighting implements. Jose Guadalupe Luna-Ruiz was arrested for involvement in the original theft.

The Uncovering of an Illegal Bird-Fighting Ring and Recovery of Stolen Property in Rohnert Park
In a recent turn of events in the small town of Rohnert Park, an illegal bird-fighting ring was uncovered, leading to the recovery of over $20,000 in stolen property. The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) embarked on an extensive investigation following a report of a burglary at a storage facility on the 6000 block of Commerce Boulevard on March 19.
Investigation and Arrest of Suspect
Upon arrival at the scene, RPDPS officers discovered that the victim had suffered a significant loss, estimated to be in excess of $22,000. Through diligent investigative work, officers were able to identify Audrina Renee McPeters as the primary suspect in the case. Further inquiries led them to a residence on the 3400 block of Stony Point Road in Santa Rosa, believed to be connected to the crime.
On March 21, a county-wide stop and hold was issued for McPeters, who was wanted on charges of conspiracy, burglary, and grand theft. With the assistance of the Santa Rosa Police Department, McPeters was apprehended and booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
Discovery of Stolen Property and Animal Cruelty Violations
The investigation took a shocking turn on March 22 when RPDPS detectives and patrol officers executed a warrant at the Stony Point Road residence. Joining forces with the Santa Rosa PD and the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement officers uncovered a cache of stolen property belonging to the victim.

Not only did they find stolen goods, but they also stumbled upon numerous animal cruelty violations at the residence. Among the atrocities discovered were 1,000 game birds believed to be raised for illegal fighting purposes. Sonoma County Animal Services intervened, rescuing five malnourished horses, two dogs in poor condition, and quarantining the game birds.
Arrest of Additional Suspects
As the investigation unfolded, another suspect, Jesus Miguel Santoyo Rodriguez, was arrested for possession of gaffs/slashers used in bird fighting. In a separate development, Jose Guadalupe Luna-Ruiz was identified as a suspect in the original theft at the storage unit. Santa Rosa PD officers apprehended Luna-Ruiz on April 2 for his involvement in the conspiracy, burglary, grand theft, and receiving stolen property.
The uncovering of the illegal bird-fighting ring and the recovery of stolen property in Rohnert Park serves as a stark reminder of the heinous activities that can lurk beneath the surface of seemingly tranquil communities.
