A woman in Florida is facing serious charges after allegedly attempting to arrange a murder-for-hire plot to eliminate two witnesses in her teenage son’s murder trial. Josefina Cardona-Cardona, 43, was arrested on Monday and now faces two counts of solicitation. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office revealed that she could also face deportation as she had entered the U.S. illegally from Guatemala.
The alarming case dates back to the prosecution of Cardona-Cardona’s son, Miguel Marcos Cardona, who committed a heinous crime at a young age. Miguel pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received a 10-year prison sentence for fatally stabbing a 19-year-old man during a child’s birthday party in 2022. Despite being just 14 years old at the time of the incident, Miguel was tried as an adult.
The shocking turn of events unfolded when authorities discovered that Cardona-Cardona was allegedly trying to orchestrate the murders of two witnesses from her son’s trial.
