A California man found himself in hot water after leaving his 7-year-old granddaughter with a homeless woman to go to a bar in Sacramento. Warren confessed to giving a homeless woman $20 to take his granddaughter to a thrift store while he spent four hours at the bar. Surveillance footage captured the woman, Lauren Jope, leaving with the child, sparking panic and concern.

Rescue Operation

Deputies launched a search operation, and after half an hour, Jope heard the sheriff’s helicopter announcements and returned with the child to the parking lot. Jope explained that Warren had approached her, asking her to accompany his granddaughter to buy shorts.
