The Challenging Situation at the Gorge Campground

During the Beyond Wonderful festival at the Gorge Campground, chaos erupted when a concertgoer brought a handgun into the event. Tragically, the suspect went on a shooting spree, resulting in the deaths of concertgoers Brandy Escamilla and Josilyn Ruiz. In addition, August Morningstar and security officer Lori Williams were injured, along with the suspect’s former girlfriend, Lily Luksich.

Despite the limited information, equipment, and communications available to them, the five officers sprang into action. Without body armor, cover, or concealment, they bravely confronted the armed suspect, ultimately putting an end to the violence.
