The preliminary investigation revealed that a juvenile male driver was making a turn onto West Main Street from Towne Road when the collision happened. At the same time, Mutone was cycling southbound along Towne Road on a multi-purpose path.
Tragically, Mutone was struck by the juvenile driver’s car as he attempted to cross West Main Street. He was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment but, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries.
