A man was taken into custody and booked for attempted murder after allegedly shooting his wife and 10-year-old son at a Victorville motel over the weekend.

The incident occurred at the Days Inn by Wyndham Victorville in the 15300 block of La Paz Drive around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday night, prompting a response from local deputies.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered a 33-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her neck and a 10-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his stomach. Both victims were promptly transported to a trauma center for medical treatment, although their current conditions remain undisclosed.

Suspect Identified and Arrested

The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Christopher Bulger, the husband of the female victim and father of the injured child, was located in the vicinity and taken into custody by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

According to authorities, the shooting is believed to have stemmed from an argument between Bulger and his wife, resulting in the tragic injuries sustained by both victims.

As per the Sheriff’s Department statement, “The female victim was shot in the neck, with the bullet passing through her body and exiting through her abdomen. The bullet then struck the 10-year-old juvenile in the stomach as he stood nearby.”
