Richard Rivera : “Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Tondo”

Two men were tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in Tondo, Manila on the early morning of Monday, May 6. The incident took place at around 12:20 a.m. along the northbound lane of Mel Lopez Boulevard, at the corner of Jacinto Street, in Barangay 105, Vitas, Tondo Manila.

The Scene of the Accident

According to the Manila Police District (MPD), the victims were identified as Richard Rivera and his unidentified passenger. The accident occurred when a trailer truck, driven by an individual known only as alias Wakray, suddenly stopped to allow a pedestrian to cross the road. Tragically, the motorcycle carrying the victims collided with the rear-right portion of the trailer truck.

Eye Witness Accounts

Witnesses at the scene reported that the motorcycle was travelling at high speed and crashed into the trailer truck when it slowed down. The impact of the collision caused the victims to be thrown off the motorcycle, hitting the back of the trailer truck before falling onto the cemented pavement. Sadly, both men lost their lives instantly due to the severity of the impact.

Investigation and Response

Following the incident, authorities swiftly responded to the scene. While the victims were pronounced dead at the site of the accident, the truck driver was taken into police custody for further investigation. The MPD is currently conducting inquiries to determine the exact circumstances that led to this tragic event.
