Two teenagers, Pawandeep Singh and Harmanjit Singh, both residents of Amloh Road in Khanna, have been arrested by the Khanna police over two weeks after a horrific incident took place. The incident involved the sexual assault of a 20-year-old woman and an attempted murder of her brother. The main accused, Lucky, was apprehended a few days prior to the arrest of the teenagers.

The City 2 Khanna police filed a first-information report (FIR) against four individuals on April 16, following a complaint from the 20-year-old woman. According to the woman, the accused had been stalking her for a significant amount of time. The incident unfolded when she, along with her siblings, was returning home after purchasing groceries on April 16. The accused intercepted them near AS College.

The woman recounted that the accused attempted to force her to accept his proposal to befriend him. Upon her refusal, the accused physically assaulted her. When her brother intervened, the accused attacked him and even stabbed him with a kirpan. The woman mentioned that the accused fled the scene after the altercation.

The kirpan struck her brother near his heart, necessitating immediate medical attention.

City 2 station-house officer (SHO), sub-inspector Gurmeet Singh, confirmed that an FIR was lodged against the four accused under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 307 (attempt to murder), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). While Pawandeep Singh and Harmanjit Singh have been arrested, the fourth accused remains unidentified.
