Clay Wood Elementary School in Nokesville, but investigation revealed it was not credible. Additionally, a 28-year-old woman was assaulted by an acquaintance outside a courthouse in Manassas. The accused, Kevin Ernesto Marchante, was arrested and charged with assault & battery on a law enforcement officer, domestic assault & battery, and obstruction.

Threat Made to T. Clay Wood Elementary School

Early in the morning on April 25, officers responded to T. Clay Wood Elementary School in Nokesville following a bomb threat made towards the school. The threat, left on the school’s voicemail the previous evening, prompted school personnel to contact the police immediately. As a precaution, the school was evacuated while officers and a police K-9 searched the grounds. Thankfully, no devices were found, and it was determined that there was no active threat to the school. The caller, a 16-year-old male student from another Prince William County school, was identified, and charges are pending.
Domestic Dispute Leads to Assault on Law Enforcement Officer
Shortly after noon on April 25, a domestic dispute outside the courthouse on Lee Avenue in Manassas resulted in an assault on a 28-year-old woman. The accused, identified as Kevin Ernesto MARCHANTE, was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim that turned physical. Intoxicated and resistant, MARCHANTE spat on an officer before being subdued and arrested. Charged with assault & battery on a law enforcement officer, domestic assault & battery, and obstruction, MARCHANTE’s court date is pending.
Abduction Incident in Dumfries
At around 10:30 a.m. on April 25, officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Stockbridge Drive in Dumfries. A 43-year-old woman was found to have been physically assaulted and prevented from leaving the home by a family member. The accused, Delberto Bettencourt FREITAS, was later arrested and charged with abduction, preventing the summoning of law enforcement, and domestic assault & battery. FREITAS remains in custody without bond.
Assault on Law Enforcement Officer at CVS Pharmacy
Later that morning, at the CVS Pharmacy on Richmond Highway in Woodbridge, an altercation ensued when a male patron refused to leave the restroom. Identified as Mohamed POTEMAN, the accused shoved an officer and attempted to flee the scene. Suspected drug paraphernalia was found in the restroom, leading to POTEMAN’s arrest on charges of assault & battery on a law enforcement officer, obstruction of justice, possession of a schedule I/II drug, and trespassing. His court date is pending.
