Darlene Chestnut and Karrie Amaro, both from Philadelphia, were found in a vehicle with a loaded Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun, along with drugs such as crack cocaine and marijuana. A subsequent search of a hotel room associated with the two individuals uncovered even more illegal substances and unsupervised children, leading to charges being filed against Chestnut and Amaro.
Black Handgun Discovered During Routine Traffic Stop
During a routine traffic stop on April 4, officers in Bensalem Township came across a black handgun in plain view inside a vehicle. The driver, Jermaine Beattie, was found to be in possession of the firearm without the necessary permits or licenses. Beattie, a felon prohibited from owning a firearm, was promptly arrested and charged with various violations.
Arrests Made in Connection with Multiple Warrants
On April 13, a traffic stop in Bensalem Township led to the arrest of Brittany Dougherty and Omar Pedro, both of Philadelphia, who had outstanding warrants for burglary, robbery, and retail theft. Pedro was found to be carrying a handgun, while Dougherty was in possession of narcotics. Both individuals were charged accordingly, highlighting the thorough police work being done in the area.
