1. CT man facing multiple criminal charges
2. Manslaughter suspect arrested on new sex assault charge in CT

In a recent incident that has shocked the community in Wolcott, a man is facing serious charges after allegedly running over a woman in a driveway, leading to her tragic death. This man, identified as James Sadlowski, has now been arrested again, this time on accusations of sexually assaulting a woman in a parking lot in Coventry last summer.

Details of the Incident

The Coventry Police Department has revealed that Sadlowski, aged 31, was taken into custody on Tuesday on charges including first-degree sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, third-degree assault, and second-degree unlawful restraint. This arrest comes after a thorough investigation into a reported sexual assault that took place in a commercial parking lot back in August 2023. Shockingly, Sadlowski had allegedly only just met the victim on the night of the assault.

With the assistance of law enforcement agencies in Cromwell and Wolcott, as well as the use of DNA evidence, Sadlowski was identified as the suspect in this disturbing case.

Legal Proceedings

Sadlowski appeared in Rockville Superior Court for his arraignment, and his case has been adjourned until June 7. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond in connection with the sexual assault charges and has not yet entered a plea.

RELATED STORIES

It is worth noting that Sadlowski is also embroiled in another legal matter at Waterbury Superior Court related to the fatal incident in Wolcott. In that tragic event, a woman lost her life after being run over in a driveway in the early hours of February 10.

Previous Incident in Wolcott

According to the Wolcott Police Department, Sadlowski had been out drinking with Brandon Hamel and Alexandra Standish on the night of the fatal incident. They had all left separately and ended up at a residence on Central Avenue where Standish and Hamel resided together.

Standish had gone outside to speak with Sadlowski while he was parked in the driveway. Tragically, he backed out and ran over her, leading to her untimely death. Despite Hamel coming out to the driveway shortly after, there was a significant delay before any efforts were made to assist Standish, and emergency services were not called.

Following the incident, Standish was placed into Hamel’s vehicle, and Sadlowski left the scene to go to a nearby motel. Hamel eventually took Standish to Bristol Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Legal Ramifications

Sadlowski was arrested on April 11 on charges of second-degree manslaughter, intentional cruelty to persons, evading responsibility causing death, and multiple offences related to his actions that night. Investigators are now expected to charge Hamel once he has recovered from injuries sustained in a subsequent motorcycle accident.

The community is reeling from these shocking developments, and the legal process will now determine the fate of those involved in these tragic incidents.
