Tragic Loss of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy
A tragic incident occurred last night at the Los Angeles County sheriff’s South Los Angeles station, resulting in the untimely death of a dedicated deputy. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of death for the deputy, who passed away while on duty at the station.
Details of the Incident
Personnel at the South Los Angeles station called for an ambulance around 9 p.m. on Saturday after discovering the deputy unresponsive. The deputy, identified as 41-year-old Jonathan Stewart on the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s website, had served in the department for 17 years.
Procession in Honor of the Fallen Deputy
A solemn procession was held as Stewart’s body was moved from the South Los Angeles station in the unincorporated Athens area, near Normandie Avenue and the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway, to the medical examiner’s headquarters in Boyle Heights. The procession was a touching tribute to his years of service and dedication to the community.
