Tragic Car Accident Claims Lives of Three Hindu Women in South Carolina

Three Hindu women from Gujarat, identified as Rekhaben Patel, Sangitaben Patel, and Manishaben Patel, met a tragic end in a devastating car accident in Greenville County, South Carolina. The SUV they were traveling in was speeding north on Interstate 85 when it suddenly veered off the road, crossed four lanes of traffic, climbed an embankment, and soared up to 20 feet in the air before colliding with trees on the opposite side. The vehicle was found mangled and destroyed, indicating the impact of the high-speed crash.

Deputy Coroner Mike Ellis confirmed that the SUV’s excessive speed was the primary factor in the fatal crash. The vehicle’s trajectory was unprecedented, with no other cars involved in the incident. “It’s evident that they were speeding,” Ellis stated in an interview with local news station WSPA. He emphasized the rarity of a vehicle leaving the roadway at such high speed, jumping multiple lanes of traffic, and landing approximately 20 feet above the ground in trees.

Response from First Responders

Immediate responses from first responders, including the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Gannt Fire Department, and multiple Greenville County EMS units, highlighted the severity of the accident. Despite the efforts of emergency personnel, the three women lost their lives in the tragic crash.
