Details of the Crime
The victim, identified as Javodrick Gordon, was found dead from gunshot wounds to the head and chest in his home on the 4800 block of Cloister Street. Police believe Gordon may have been asleep at the time of the shooting, as there were no signs of a struggle or forced entry.
According to court documents, Gordon had not been heard from for at least a day before his cousin discovered his body with gunshot wounds. Investigators found two spent casings in the bedroom, indicating a violent confrontation.
Arrest and Confession
After a brief chase, officers apprehended Montrell Kinds in the victim’s stolen car. Kinds later confessed to the crime, stating that he had called Gordon for a place to stay but the two got into a fight.
