Man Sentenced to Decades in Prison for Clown Mask Robbery and Murder in Daytona Beach

A man who terrorized a group of individuals by wearing a clown mask before robbing and killing another man in Daytona Beach has been sentenced to spend decades behind bars after opting to plead guilty rather than go to trial.

The Tragic Incident

Keylan Baker, now 26 years old, pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon for the shooting death of 29-year-old Francisco Soto on November 8, 2021. The incident took place in the parking lot at 845 Orange Ave in Daytona Beach.

The Horrifying Encounter

Witnesses to the shooting recounted the chilling moment when Baker, wearing a clown mask with green hair attached, approached them as they worked on their car in the parking lot. Initially thinking it was a harmless prank, the witnesses were shocked when Baker suddenly raised a gun and shot Soto in the head.

Following the shooting, Baker pointed the gun at another witness before walking away from the scene. The witnesses attempted to provide aid to Soto and called for help.
