AMBRIDGE, Pa. (KDKA) – A second suspect has been charged in the tragic murder of a 15-year-old boy in Beaver County.

The Scene of the Crime

On a fateful day last July, 15-year-old Asaun Moreland was shot execution-style on Church Street in Ambridge, sending shockwaves through the community.

A Heartbreaking Ten Months

For the family of Moreland, it has been ten long months of heartbreak, while the police have been tirelessly working to bring the perpetrators to justice. With one suspect already in custody, the search for the second suspect is ongoing, and authorities are eager to apprehend him as soon as possible.

Terel Dixon, Moreland’s uncle, emotionally expressed, “Being an ex-combat veteran, I know what an ambush looks like, and that’s exactly what happened to my 15-year-old nephew. He was ambushed in broad daylight.”

The Pursuit of Justice

One suspect, 18-year-old Nasean Hunt, has already been captured and charged with first-degree homicide. Now, charges have been filed against the alleged trigger man in Moreland’s shooting, a teenager identified as Naheam Kurtsey.

Beaver County District Attorney Nathan Bible revealed, “They were able to identify the second suspect, we believe, was the shooter in the incident. He’s been identified as Naheam Kurtsey.”

The Search for the Suspect

Investigators are actively searching for Kurtsey, with a breakthrough in the case coming from DNA evidence. It is believed that the 17-year-old suspect is currently evading authorities and hiding out somewhere in Pittsburgh.

Asaun’s family continues to grapple with the loss of the young man, and they are determined to seek justice for him. Terel Dixon has a pointed message for the suspects, stating, “I’ll see you soon, buddy. I’ll be at your court dates. I’ll see you soon.”
