Two individuals from Chicago were apprehended in Delaware for felony shoplifting offenses, as reported by state police. Arrest Made in Felony Shoplifting Case in Delaware

NEW CASTLE, Delaware (WPVI) — Two individuals from Chicago found themselves in hot water over the weekend after being arrested in Delaware on felony shoplifting charges, as reported by state police.

On a seemingly ordinary Saturday morning just after 11 a.m., troopers were summoned to the Lowe’s located on the 2200 block of Hessler Boulevard in New Castle. The reason? A man and woman had allegedly committed theft and hastily fled the premises in a Chrysler minivan.

Shortly thereafter, a Lowe’s employee spotted the suspects at a Dunkin’ on the 2000 block of Concord Pike in Wilmington. Law enforcement officers were swiftly dispatched to the scene, where they identified the individuals as 35-year-old Fabian Jaworski and 34-year-old Sandra Zelinska from Illinois.

Following a brief investigation, state police confirmed that Zelinska and Jaworski were indeed the culprits and promptly took them into custody. The stolen Lowe’s merchandise, along with other pilfered goods valued at over $4,000, were recovered by the troopers.

It is alleged that the suspects engaged in theft amounting to $450 at the Lowe’s in Bear and a further $1,900 worth of items at the Lowe’s in New Castle. Consequently, both individuals now face serious charges, including receiving stolen property exceeding $1,500, conspiracy in the 2nd degree, and other associated offenses.
