United States Attorney Susan Lehr announced that Daniel Polyansky, 34, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was sentenced on April 22, 2024, in federal court in Lincoln for the receipt and distribution of child pornography. Man from Lincoln, Nebraska Sentenced for Child Pornography

United States Attorney Susan Lehr has announced that a man from Lincoln, Nebraska, Daniel Polyansky, aged 34, has been sentenced on April 22, 2024, in federal court for the receipt and distribution of child pornography. Investigation by Nebraska State Patrol

The investigation into Polyansky was initiated in September of 2022 by the Nebraska State Patrol. They were conducting an online investigation targeting offenders who were sharing child pornography. Through their investigative techniques, they were able to identify an IP address linked to Polyansky that was providing videos of children being sexually abused to others for viewing and downloading.

Search Warrant and Arrest

Following the identification of Polyansky, a search warrant was obtained for his address in Lincoln. When investigators approached Polyansky in the parking lot of his apartment building, he was noncommittal about the presence of child pornography on his devices or whether he had viewed such images. Despite this, Polyansky consented to allowing investigators to look at his cell phone, but he denied consent for it to be forensically downloaded. His phone was seized at that time, and he was allowed to leave while officers searched his apartment.

Discovery of Child Pornography

During the search of Polyansky’s apartment, investigators observed a child pornography video playing on his laptop. Polyansky was recontacted outside and arrested on state charges. Subsequent searches of his laptop and cell phone revealed a disturbing collection of 398 videos and 456 images of child pornography.
