A joint team of the East District and Crime Branch in Guwahati, led by ACP Basistha, conducted a raid that resulted in the arrest of a gang of cyber criminals operating in a rented room in Bhetapara area. The police seized 12 mobile phones, a laptop, and bank debit cards from the gang members. Bank account numbers and details were also found on their phones. Guwahati Cyber Criminals Arrested in Police Raid

A joint team of the East District and Crime Branch, Guwahati, led by ACP Basistha, carried out a successful raid in Guwahati, resulting in the arrest of a gang of cyber criminals on Saturday. The gang was operating out of a rented room in Guwahati’s Bhetapara area.

Arrest of Cyber Criminals

Following the raid, four individuals were apprehended in connection with the case. These criminals were involved in the illicit collection of bank account details from unsuspecting individuals, promising significant profits in return for the use of their bank accounts. Subsequently, they used these bank accounts to facilitate cyber financial frauds without the knowledge of the account holders.

Seizure of Evidence

During the spot interrogation, law enforcement officials seized around 12 mobile phones, one laptop, and several bank debit cards from the members of the gang. Additionally, numerous bank account numbers and details were discovered on the mobile phones of the arrested individuals.

Identification of Suspects

The individuals who were arrested have been identified as Dipak Singh, Rupam Goswami, Firoz Khan from West Bengal, and Shlok Kumar from Bihar. Further investigation into the matter is currently ongoing to uncover additional details about the criminal activities of the gang.
