A man in Amritsar, Punjab, allegedly murdered his pregnant wife by tying her to a bed and setting her ablaze after a heated argument. The victim, Pinky, who was expecting twins, died immediately. The suspect, Sukhdev, is currently on the run, with a police investigation underway. In a separate incident in south Mumbai, a man was arrested for molesting and attempting to kill a female lawyer in a shopping mall restroom. The victim managed to escape after kicking the assailant in the stomach. The accused, Ramashankar Gautam alias Sandeep Pandey, was apprehended by the Azad Maidan police station.

The perpetrator, identified as Ramashankar Gautam alias Sandeep Pandey, was apprehended by authorities after the victim bravely fought back and managed to escape.

According to a police official, the victim encountered the assailant in the common toilet of the shopping centre. Despite her attempts to get him to leave, the man locked the main door from the inside, molested her, and attempted to take her life. Thanks to her quick thinking and physical resistance, the victim was able to kick the attacker and flee to safety. The swift action of the Azad Maidan police station led to the arrest of the culprit.
